A bit of brainstorming 2.0 :)
Just posted this article about LinkedIn's revolution (APIs, new UI and features), and thought: is this world going towards the 2.0 Services integration or every start-up is gonna reinvent the wheel each time it needs to add a new (for it) 2.0 and secondary feature to its service offer?
This time I have a doubt, since I read about LinkedIn's new PEOPLE SEARCH feature. Honestly I did not understand well if they (LinkedIn) call by "people search" just the same but enhanced search on LinkedIn (so it should have been called LinkedIn Users Search, not people- search), or it's gonna be a new "external links for <LinkedIn User>" cool feature?
The idea is easy- why LinkedIn could not partner let's say with Spock (spock.com, the new people search engine 2.0) about this?
LinkedIn could have a "See another web data/ references about Name + Surname", powered by Spock engine?
The both services (LinkedIn and Spock) are very 2.0 and the both were listed in the 10 start-ups to watch in 2008 by Wired News.
LinkedIn is a King of the Professional Networking on-line, but also Spock is not "a surprise", it's a very serious and already appreciated by the 2.0 World platform- I believe it will soon power people-searches maybe of the most important Web Search Engines, and it's for sure Spock's one of the best application could be to feed another 2.0 services, for example Social Networks!
