Mobile social networking takes up to 40% of mobile web traffic, according to Opera Software's "State of the Mobile Web"!

A must read Opera's first report "State of the Mobile Web": http://www.opera.com/mobile_report/

Opera Software logo

that states-

  • 40% of mobile web traffic goes to Social networking
  • full web surfing represents close to 78 percent of all traffic, far outpacing content on WAP and .mobi sites. so WAP IS DEAD! Consumers desire a rich Web experience regardless of the device they use to access the Web.
  • U.S.: MySpace is the most visited mobile web destination,  followed by Google, mobile social networking service MocoSpace, Yahoo and Facebook
  • Among the top 100 sites almost a quarter of all traffic directs to content portals or search engines

THE REPORT: State of the Mobile Web: First Quarter, 2008

Keywords: Facebook, Mobile 2.0, Mobile social networking, MocoSpace, Opera, Social networking, State of the Mobile Web, WAP, Yahoo, myspace, Google
