Social Networking in Russia part II, Business Networking: will Russians need a LINKEDIN localized?
Maybe someone will remember my recent story about the RUSSIAN FACEBOOK "CLONE" called vkontarke.ru? Here is how the story about "Social Networking: the Russian Way" begins-
Social Networking in Russia part I: will Russians need a Facebook localized?
And today the Mother Russia is presenting to us its another creature- RUSSIAN "CLONE" OF LINKEDIN Business Social Network, called linkbook.ru! So, the next chapter of this story should be probably called-
Will Russians need a LINKEDIN localized?
Maybe it's all official and LinkedIn.com is now opening its branch in Russia? But I have a doubt, I would have known about it I am sure ;) Well, let's take a closer look at the system internal/ external User Interface and its Logic ,and Ihen I'll leave to you the rest (emotions).
But even before, please let me show you where LinkBOOK.ru is DIFFERENT from LinkedIn.com. They declare (and I believe it's true) to have lots of different/ (new/ additional, in respect to LinkedIn.com) functionality, such as:
Tenders (still not sure what's this about- a Job Marketplace?);
on-line sales/ e-commerce;
Info-services;
the fully functioning groups (as on Xing/ Viadeo) ;
...
Not too bad? Yep! But it's OK, let's now see the UI and Logic part-
picture 1- The Off-Line view of home page
Picture 2- About/ How it works
picture 3- Registering myself on LinkBook.ru
picture 4- I am in, User Home Page (inside view)
picture 5- how the LinkBook CEO page looks like on LinkBook.ru
picture 6- the same page of Linkbook CEO, now on LinkedIn.com
picture 7- LinkBook BLOG. It's all good but why do we see there Mr. Mario Sundar, the official Linkedin Blogger/ Evangelist?

Former Soviet Block countries could soon be the last western culture countries attacked/bought/colonized by Islam, cause they have their own petrol/gas and they're a lot more proudly western-minded than stupid western-europe people (including italians)
So it's not a bad idea to build a parallel western-world (also in 2.0 web), which will more difficult fall in islam control ;-)
Francesco,
you know, I'll agree with you. Russians are similar to China people in THIS sense: they MUST have all their "back-up" services 'coz who knows what they'll decide to do one day so they "can't be dependent from the rest of the World" :)
my "problem" with LinkBook.ru is that I am sure they could develop & launch the same cool Business Network for high profile Russian people, but w/o making a CLONE of LinkedIn in UI/Logic! Why it was needed? it makes me crying!
I could easily accept such an "approach" from a China based company- those guys are "famous" to copy everything. but Russians are the great MINDS, not copiers!!!
well, at least it was the situation when I left that World (ex-USSR).
that's why I was so much upset now to have known such a project was launched in Russia...
I can easily believe their technological platform will work even better than the one of LinkedIn :), also because I know there are some lots Russian/ ex-USSR guys working for LinkedIn (Microsoft, Google, etc everywhere).
*** but why to COPY like Chinese?! ***
