We always had a possibility to present Milan-IN Networking Events also to anonymous Home Page viewers, but we did not use this feature because Milan-IN does not schedule the Events beforehand. It is all communicated in the last minute and I'll leave to you to judge if it's bad or good, it's out of my responsibility in the Club. On the other hand, Milan-IN is using multi-cast e-mailing to notify Club Members about the nearest meetings, with all details of the Event.
However the last Friday, Axelle Brown has asked me why nobody from outside (a Home Page viewer) is able seeing at least the schedule of nearest Events, even if there is no Event description yet. So it could be a combination of the two publishing/communication methods,- e-mail notifications/invitations for Club Members together with web site Event publishing mechanist for both, Anonymous and Club Members.
Look, Axelle, what Milan-IN has now: the Agenda application is available also for Anonymous user (not authenticated Club Member) from our Home Page, through Menu, Tools -> Events and through Calendar object of eGroupWare's CMS (the right frame, below the Login box).
Now everyone navigating from Milan-IN Hope Page to the Events section (Agenda application) will enter eGroupWare's restricted area, where I created templates for the upcoming Events of Milan-IN (I know only schedule). Then, when a particular Event arrives, I (or I hope somebody else!) will be filling the content.
What's nice in the idea to bring Anonymous to the restricted area of eGw, is that together with Agenda, there are available some other applications we've put to public- Milan-IN's Picture Gallery with pictures of some previously available Events, and Forum (only few dummy sections for reading/writing, but one will see the Forum structure to get an idea what we're chatting about in Milan-IN).
So big thanks to Axelle Brown for having shown to me the PWA Milano's Events page, and reminded to us that it's important to give an imagine to Home Page viewers, not only rely on e-mail broadcasting. And as usual, thanks to Michael for having fixed some bugs :)
