Milan-IN's Application Panel updated, My Profile icon added

One of the Platform Usability researches performed recently, has shown that some Club Members did not fill their profiles ... because they could not find how to do this!

Yes, Milan-IN community is different. It does not include only Advanced Web Users, but also some people, Business People, that use Internet mostly for e-mailing. So they would have problems with the modern Web 2.0 stuff that a good Web Platform could offers...

And we've done one step towards those Users- Now it should be easy for everybody to have the Profile filled- just have a look at the updated Top Application Panel of our Group-Ware, when you're logged in:

Here is the picture of the English version of our new App-Panel:

And the next one shows you the Italian version of GUI of Milan-IN:

Has it become much easies now? If so, no one will have an excuse for the profile not filled :) Just Kidding!

P.S. As usual, thanks to our magician Michael for the great job! I'll buy a beer for Michael on behalf of Milan-IN ;), tomorrow at Milano Beer Festival where we're going to go for sure!

  1. I would add that if you have a business website, you can personalize your profile to include your company logo and specific links to your areas of specialization.

Not only will you help your MilanIn network better identify you with your professional activities, but you'll also increase your visibility in the overall web ecosystem as Google and other search engines index MilanIn member profiles. My page is an example of what is possible:

A special thanks to Andrey and Micheal who work tirelessly behind the scenes to provide these services to the MilanIn community.

  2. Sean, thank you very much for another valuable comment!

Your profile looks very good, and it's probably optimised to 100% from the SEO point of view, to present you on the Web in person and within your business! Probably one thing that's missing in your case, if you agree, is a bit more of your personal story!

You should remember that 'Member Profile' feature includes also member's Home Page element, that was planned as an addition to Member's Profile, to be a free-text and possible more emotional (less SEO ).
I advice to everybody to check this feature.

    - here is how to fill your Home Page:

    - and here is how you'll see it when filled:

I wish you all profitable Networking, and it's also Networking on-line, plz do not forget it! The better you and your business is presented on the Web- the better other people will find you and understand your needs/ possibilities!
