Saluti, Andrey

BTW, about the banner of LinkedIn: I do NOT see it! :( and lots of other people do not see it... it's strange, I am afraid LD is using some "popular" technique of identifying Milan-based web users that is not very sharp...
need to investigate the issue...

btw, here is my info- Visitor location: Genova, Liguria, IT, when I am in the office (Milan).
Q: Anybody else can see the banner as from above, on the home page of LinkedIn (www.linkedin.com)?

Just finished the check.
This link is generated by linkedin/ad.doubleclick.com sites.
I did not see the link too at the beginning.
First of all, to see the link one should disable his ad blocker. Most of them consider doubleclick javascripts as ads which they indeed are. And it gets blocked.
Secondly, it is indeed bound to the location in some way, what I see in the source parameters are "country" and "region".
I've tested from US and got an US ad. If the region counts then we may have a problem because not all of the Italian Providers are Milanesi, and not every Milanese explicitly states it on his IP range description. But I don't think it counts, I've done some tests with:
Tiscali - Italy, Sardegna, Cagliari
Italtel - Italy, Lombardia, Milano
Serverplan - Italy, Toscana, Firenze
Level IP - Italy, Milano
and some others...
and it appears that I always see the ad.
The thing is that most ip2geo providers do some research to find this data and they may have it more accurate than my findings.
However, I don't think it is related to the region detection. Or rather I hope it is not, because having Alice of TI which is based and Rome I can be located all over the Italian territory. It just doesn't make sense. If this algorithm also detects MY IP location, it is better but yet not ideal, because the networks are changing dynamically, and pool allocations are not always based on geographical parameters.
Anyway, there is no exact answer for this problem, and in order to get to it I need to check from the IP address of someone who does not see it. I do.

From my home I see the things as "Verona, Veneto". and I see their Ads :=)
well, let's follow the development of this topic, it's still expected something a bit different from LD, we've sent them our vision for this campaign. Thank you Michael.
