Sean Carlos to join the IT Team of MilanIN (as SEO)
- Actually we started our collaboration few weeks ago in the classical MilanIN-style approach- each Member brings his piece to the Club, expecting the Club to be helpful for his personal/ professional goals.
- It was the idea of Sean to give to me and Michael some advices. And those were very useful advices! So se spoke once again and then once again...
-
- Now, since from our point of view Sean is demonstrating the great attitude and "best effort" approach in our collaboration, we decided to invite Sean to officially take part of the IT Team of MilanIN, and to allow to Sean considering MilanIN as his client.
-
- Sean Carlos is the President of Antezeta,Web Analytics and Search Engine Optimization consultancy. Sean is gonna coach Web Strategy for MilanIN now, and the Networking Association in the future.
- HOW IT WORKS, the SEO consultancy (from the words of Sean):
- "My approach is to perform an extensive audit which reviews a site, considering business and technical factors
- (see http://www.antezeta.com/seo-services.html#SEOS2 in English or http://www.antezeta.it/servizi-ottimizzazione-siti-motori-di-ricerca.html#SEOS2 for the Italian version).
-
- The audit findings are documented in a check-up report with specific action items which can be utilized as a basis for optimizing the site in question. The Marketing and Technical action items are prioritized based on estimated effort and impact.
-
- With the audit finding delivery, I also provide a no-strings attached quotation to perform many of the audit suggestions."

"Aperitivo di Natale" with MilanIN

Each news article on MilanIN now has a permanent link to it!
- On the days the two great IT guys of MilanIN have made us such a present: Victor has enhanced eGW's CMS to allow each published article to be accessible by its unique ID (in URL), and then Michael has helped integrating this feature to the Home Page of MilanIN.
-
- How it works:
- In order to view exclusively the news article desired on a dedicated page (because in the news thread the article may be of reduced version), from the news feed of our Home Page just press the “Permanent link”/”Link permanente” URL in the bottom-right corner of the rectangle containing current news article, and it will bring you the decided story on a dedicated page.
-
- Now, for example, the news article “New Photo Gallery:"L'Angelo che realizza i tuoi sogni"(Sergio Saibene)”:
- has a direct URL to reach it (the one URL given above), and it's also (of course) available together with the other articles of the same category, which is “Our Web Site” in this case:
-
- Big thanks to Victor and as usual to Michael ;)

Teresa Colombi is coming to Milan: "Meeting franco-italiano" topic sul nostro forum
Mi piacerebbe pero' incontrarvi in carne e ossa! Vi propongo quindi un incontro franco-italiano, tra il 19 ed il 23 dicembre. Per esempio verso fine giornata. Per esempio al Pacino caffé. Insomma, manifestatevi e decidiamo di un incontro! A prestissimo, spero Teresa
Teresa Colombi www.ludo-tic.com
It's true that we have few French people living and working in Millan, those who're also MilanIN Members. Now the visit of Teresa could be a possibility for those "franco-italiano" people to finally meet each other :) The original topic on our Forum is HERE. so you may want to leave your message on the Forum, or contact directly Teresa via MilanIN Messenger.

Pier's experiment: Pay through PayPal/CCard for your MilanIN Evening Party
Finally it's happening: MilanIN has decided to check if Members will pay it forward for Dinners/ Evening Parties, so Pier Carlo has updated the recent announcement about MilanIN's Christmas Party with the following: *********** E se vuoi risparmiare la coda all'ingresso e iniziare subito il tuo networking puoi effettuare il pagamento in anticipo con Carta di Credito, cliccando sul pulsante sottostante. (PayPal button). *********** We will see. I know it's normal to pay it forward and to use C/C PayPal, but we're in Italy! ;)

MilanIN Members' Blog has become an important part of the Club News!
Today we decided to add "All MilanIN Members' Blogs" menu item to the Main Menu/Home Page of MilanIN (the left upper corner, under "Club News" category). It will be an addition to already existed News of categories "General", "The Club's Life", "Networking and PR" and "Our Web Site". For now this new item will be a simple forward to the Blog's page. In the future... will see, but it should be probably placed inside a frame on Home Page, like the other News there.

MilanIN and Google, part II (Victor Borisevich)
It will be a short, easy and funny post :), a small addition to the talk I have started here early: MilanIN and Google. Today just by case I've discovered that the recent MilanIN IT Team Member, Victor Borisevich, has already become associated with MilanIN by Google :) Just have a look at this simple request! Why I am talking this? It's because we were always telling to the people helping MilanIN that the Club will pay it back in its way, via the thing that's the most important in Social Networking world: THE VISIBILITY. Note: Please believe me, we do NOT pay to Google for the search "optimized for MilanIN" :) We even do not pay to the people that make it possible, like Michael, Victor and myself :) It works just because MilanIN is the great Idea (the Club, thanks to its President) and has THE TEAM that makes this Idea a reality!

MSN Search vs Google in respect of MilanIN :)
While I was typing my previous post about Victor and Google, again just by case :), I asked live.com the same question about Victor Borisevich. And you know what ?! It seems that MSN Search is not looking through LinkedIN records... he could not find Victor on Linkedin while his profile is here, it's searchabe and Google brings it up! Well, coming back to the question that we do not pay to Google for the "optimized search" in respect of MilanIN :), probably in the case of MSN Search the things could be dealt better: I know personally some best guys of the MSN Search R&D Team, the guys like Dima, Slava and another Dima (Dima Kachan was mentioned recently in my article One of my good friends is "the most wanted person in Linkedin"?) are my good friends from Belarus, we were once working together for EPAm Systems.

Another nice feature for MilanIN's CMS: "Send this article to a friend"
- Glossary: CMS stands for Content Management and Publishing System.
- MilanIN's CMS is an enhanced version of the original eGroupWare web authoring system.
-
- As a logical consequence of the work submitted few days ago by Victor (Each news article on MilanIN now has a permanent link to it!), now we've added also a possibility to send directly from MilanIN Home Page containing a news article, a message to somebody with your personal comment and direct URL to this article.
-
- It works easy: you see an article on MilanIN which could be interesting from your point of view for somebody of your friends, you click “Send to a friend” / “Mandare ad un amico” URL in the bottom left corner of the area containing the article, you see a form appearing below the article, you feel this form and press OK button.
- That's all, your contact will get a message in the current for MilanIN Home Page language (our Web Site is completely available for IT/EN versions).
-
- This feature is an old dream of MilanIN President.:)
- Pier Carlo is sure that Club Members will be happy to notify their friends about the new happening at MilanIN.
-
- As
Madonna Pier Carlo says: “Everybody come to Hollywood MilanIN" :) -
- P.S. once again, BIG THANX to Victor!

“Mary Christmas MilanIN”- expecting a great Networking Party with over 120 people participating!
- As it was announced recently on the Web Site of MilanIN (and also here "Aperitivo di Natale"), the next Monday, 18 December, it takes place the last in this year Networking Event organized by MilanIN.
- It's the statistics from yesterday's counter: 120+ people are coming!
-
- Well, it's the last Event in this year and also we know we've picked up really lots of new Club Members during the last 3 month so some of them will probably come for the first time only.
-
- I wish a great Social Business Networking with MilanIN to everybody!

The "Manifesto" of Marco passed to Alessandro for verification/ implementation
The good idea never really dies! The same is true for MilanIN in the sense of how do we work on our Projects. Here there are no much people constantly working for the Club, the Teams are mostly ad-hoc and also everyone has its own "first-priority" job. So some projects are not so quickly implemented as it probably could be done... but we're moving! we never forget about the good ideas! Now it's the turn of the famous "MilanIN Ethics Manifesto", from Marco Marzagalli. The second attempt. Very carefully, very seriously... soon there will be issued and presented to the Club a kind of "The MilanIN Ethics Policy" for how one should behaviour in respect to the Club and the other Club Members. It's Alessandro Santo who is in charge to coordinate this project development.

MilanIN Group on LinkedIN
The recent post of Marco Marzagalli... http://www.milanin.com/members/marco.marzagalli/weblog/214.html Well, finally somebody else is telling "why is it so?" here:) I am not surprised anymore, I am used that sometimes Italian people (I LOVE THEM SO MUCH) are not really accurate in how do they manage the things... :) It's not a critics (God save me!), I know they're just "different"... I have good enough experience working with Russians/ USA/ UK people and they're all in fact much accurate (just my opinion). It's very strange (even if I am not surprisind anymore) that the people can not find comments about OUR GROUP ON LINKEDIN, which are everywhere: on the Forum (in several topics), in our FAQ section, we write about it in MilanIN's "welcome letter" when we activate one's profile on MilanIN Web Platform, we've recently put the group's logo to our Home Page... but anyway, as Marco said, it's only about 10% of Club Members that have found the Group info! Could we (IT/ Marketing Team) do the communication better?

Let it be known that this particular Andrey Golub is a really, really nice guy
Internet is such a small world guys !!! It's an old story, I have once written in my Blog (to Andrey Golub and all the other people associated with crap like this) that when people are looking for "Andrey Golub" on the Web, one of pages that always comes is a Weblog article "Power Rant: ON". This articles speaks about another Andrey Golub, not me:) Well, I was explaining everything in my previous post about this situation. Here I want to add just that it's true the world is small but one can fight for his good name! In my case I was too tired to explain to the people asking me about this another Andrey Golub that it's not me :) so I've written that article in my Blog and showed it to the author of that original story about the bad Andrey Golub :) Now I see there is a new comment in his Blog "Power Rant: ON", that means he has read my article and agrees that Google makes a disservice for me. And the comment is: UPDATE: Hey! Let it be known that this particular Andrey Golub is a really, really nice guy. He is most certainly not the Andrey Golub I'm talking about in this post! http://www.brainsideout.com/weblog/archives/2004/05/19/power_rant_on.php

"Non solo MilanIN"/"Not only MilanIN" to replace "The world around us"
- I am proud that the "Non solo MilanIN"/"Not only MilanIN" idea of Pier Carlo, MilanIN's President, has been implemented recently and it's available now for all MilanIN Members and not Members!
- Please check the news article presenting this feature.
-
- Here I would like to present the related MilanIN Web Site enhancements:
- - On the Home Page of MilanIN, available through Main Menu (which is in the upper left corner of Web Page), the last Menu Item category is called "Not only MilanIN" (after "Club News", "Info" and "Tools" with their subcategories).
-
- "Not only MilanIN" means two things:
- 1) Club Members and not Members can now submit a Social Networking group they know personally, through the "Recommend" menu Item:
-
- 2) MilanIN will publish the Club segnalised (having checking it carefully) under one of tree categories:
- - Milan;
- - Italy;
- - The World
- meaning the place where the Social Networking group has its real-life meetings.
-
- Let's see what happens now!
-
- P.S. What's "The world around us"? Is an old initiative of one of MilanIN co-founders, it's about another kind of Social Networking directory, the idea that failed because there was no strong motivation to support it.
-
- Now with NonSoloMilanIN I hope it will be better, it's the President's idea! ;)

MilanIN Web Site has got new header!
Just have a look- the header is different now! (or force your browser to refresh the page if it's all still the same ) Previously there was also a nice header but with a "strange" photo of some "strange" people doing some "strange" things :), so lots of MilanIN Members asked us "Who are those people?" Logically it was needed to put some picture of MilanIN Members to that header, not to leave those "strange" people... And we were waiting for a good occasion which has come recently thanks to Alex, the great photographer! Some details for curious: The picture we've placed to the header of MilanIN's Web Site is the property of MilanIN. It was taken during one of our Networking Events (this one of Sergio Saibene, if to be precise). Here are the other pictures taken during this Networking Party at Pacino Cafe. I hope everybody will like the new header! ;) If not and if you have something to propose to MilanIN (your collaboration as Designer for example?)- contact us: manager.it[AT]milanin.com BIG THANKS to Alexey Pivovarov for his professional time dedicated to MilanIN Events, and of course big thanks to Michael who has made it possible.

Premiere Global Service e MilanIN la invitano a partecipare ad una serata unica nel suo genere
- I am very glad to notify all MilanIN Members and not(yet?) Members that thanks to the initiative of Alfonso Mariniello, MilanIN Member and Business Application Specialist from Xpedite Systems Srl- Premiere Global Services, MilanIN and Premiere Global Service are now announcing another joined action- REAL Networking Event!
-
We've been discussing this Event for few weeks, and yesterday thanks to the great commitment of Alfonso, the first Event announcement had taken place: some "pre-registered" people have recieved an e-mail invitation and also there is Event info on the Web Site of Premier Global Service. -
- We hope that this Event will be something new and exciting for MilanIN: it's the first time we organize an Event together with some other Project.
-
- I admire the highly professional approach of Alfonso Mariniello: once decided for his company to walk together with MilanIN, we're now entering already second project!

Social networking becomes work
It's dedicated to MilanIN President, Pier Carlo: the world is not the same as it was only 2 years ago...(and also the previous post about the Fortune 500 Business Blogging Wiki could be interesting for who's reading this article now). By Geoff Nairn Bad news for office Luddites still struggling to get to grips with e-mail. The next wave in office productivity, represented by wikis (editable websites), blogs and other social networking technologies, is here. Experts say these tools will transform the way work is done by encouraging new types of collaboration. Google, not surprisingly, is one of the best-known exponents. Every Google employee can create a blog and contribute to the company’s internal wikis. Social technologies play an essential role in keeping the creative juices flowing and also help Google keep track of its rapidly growing numbers of ideas, projects and employees. ... This time it's about Connecting-Managers® I had look at their Web Site and I found it very well organized. So I think we'll have lots of things to learn from them! (like site documentation, RSS feeds structure and availability, business services to members, services to partners, etc.) And as usual it's also about to try promote MilanIN there:

Marcello del Bono (“2PM Business Change”)- the first business coach for MilanIN
- There is another important happening (or still “to happen”) at MilanIN- thanks to initiative of Marcello del Bono, MilanIN Member and Director of “2PM Business Change”, MilanIN has got a new business coach!
-
- We define the scope (and also the title) of this project as "Fare innovazione a MilaniIn. Strategie che funzionano", or “Make innovation in MilanIN. Strategy that works”.
-
- Marcello, thanks to his professional expertise (consult his LinkedIN Profile) and entrepreneurial initiative (“2PM Business Change”), has proposed to MilanIN to help us improving management of this complex and unusual project. The expected benefits should be in a better implementation of the Strategy translated to Operative Planning and its following implementation through the attention to related areas such as responsibility, motivation, communication, investments and etc.
-
- It's really a gift for MilanIN to have the people like Marcello del Bono among the Members. We hope this project will be highly efficient for all involved parties!
2PM Consulenza di Direzione
- P.S. A personal comment could be that I met Marcello for the first time even before MilanIN (if I remember well he was not yet a Member), it was a “professional” networking on LinkedIN.
-
- I remember then he wrote an article with analysis of some major trends for Digital Television industry and technology, and its prospects for Italy. It was this article I think, or this one, I am not sure. So that time Marcello has contacted me on LinkedIN to ask my opinion (WoW!) about the written and then later I have also presented Marcello to Ettore Sforza- the best manager I've even had!, since Ettore was that time the Head of Strategy for the company we were working for.
-
- P.P.S. now both, Marcello del Bono and Ettore Sforza ha MilanIN Members and it's very good :)

There is something really fantastic happening at MilanIN: Fabio Paron, our Member and recent speaker, has just sent his greetings message for the coming Christmas Holidays to all MilanIN Members, telling us that for the whole 2007 his company, SalesBrain, has reserved just a great discount for MilanIN Members- 40%!
Here is all the information about the courses available. And it's just after the recent agreement between MilanIN and SalesBrain about November-December 2006 courses... Well, it seems to be another good reason to become MilanIN Member? ;)

MilanIN-TV phase-I is online (broadcast channels only for today)
MilanIN needs a TV, MilanIN is working on MilanIN-TV !:) Today we start testing MilanIN-TV, the project started recently since the visit of Amit to Milan. The first phase's service provides access to some public Broadcast Channels, provided to MilanIN by VideoWebGate of Amit Mendelsohn. VoD is coming soon, then it's about Video Blog for MilanIN Members, and user-generated content, its generation, storage, sharing, etc... and yes!, we're going to apply the "YouTube-Broadcast Yourself" ideas to Social Business Networking at MilanIN!
