Adesso tocca a noi, MilanINers? MilanIN and Halldis: an agreement achieved, now waiting for official communication

- I want just to quickly mention, until there is no any official communication made, that few days ago MilanIN and Halldis of Pietro Martani have signed an agreement about long term collaboration for the Club and Pietro's business (apartments to rent for short/medium/long time period and business offices to rent).
- Since now MilanIN's headquarters is in via Conca del Naviglio 18, Business Center Halldis.
-
- Most MilanIN Members know that Pietro Martani was a recent speaker at his MilanIN's self-presentation Event. I was already telling my opinion about that Event in my Blog. For me it was one of the most exciting and useful Events of the 2006 self-presentation queue of MilanIN.
-
- P.S. I am talking about this news now here just to have a FAQ record ready for the questions that will be made soon: I've got a green line from MilanIN President about Halldis's banner and few static pages placement to MilanIN Home Page, so we start changing the look of our Home Page.
-
- And also there will be probably soon developed and promoted some joint marketing compaigns for Halldis and MilanIN, like we do it with Premiere Global (the upcoming Event is mentioned here).

Your MilanIN experience could become the most important record in your CV
- Internet is changing the IT world and now I see it also on my personal example ;): having completed my education I was working in some Software Houses, then as Scientific Researcher, then as Business Analyst and Software Engineering Manager, and now an important person, owner of a privately held head-hunting company, is telling me that I should definitelly put my MilanIN experience to my CV!
-
- "The world is changing, Social Networking technologies and platforms are becoming cutting-edge. Very soon the people with your experience will be highly requested by important corporations",- he said (in Italian).
- Well, probably it will not really happen "very soon" but anyway it's a pleasure to get such a fee-back from the person who's opinion I trust.

The first work-shop on "Strategy Innovation" for MilanIN with Marcello del Bono
- As the first step towards improving Strategical Management at MilanIN, Marcello del Bono's initiative I was recently writing about, a work-shop dedicated to Strategical Vision took place two days ago at the new office of MilanIN.
-
- It was a co-founders level intervention aimed to help us summarizing and verifying that the Strategy, Vision, Mission and the other stragegical milestones are well defined and properly shared between all members of the Org-Group of MilanIN.
-
- I liked very much the style of Marcello's course and exercises: it's very practical unlike the most others approaches to teach Strategical Management (which are more "academical"). It's also directed to Execution of Strategy, not only its development and/or analysis. We spoke about such basic concepts as Strategy development and sharing, effective organizational structure, its maintenance and improvement, Vision/ Mission/ Slogan, finding a proper market niche, competition analysis and “co-petitors” (competitors that collaborate), assets, budget and so on.
-
- I am sure that this first and the future interventions of Marcello del Bono will help us managing this unusual and complex project more effectively.
- And we'll be also working with Marcello on setting up a special affiliation program for MilanIN Members decided to attend his course.

Today is my first working day in this year so I've checked the Members Counter of MilanIN in the morning and there was a good news: 666! I believe this number brings Good Luck, not bad luck! It was always my number by the life. Nothing else... it was just a funny news article ;) Maybe it's useless but it's my first working day!

Now MilanIN-TV is "MilanIN-T(i)V(u) - Try it also You!"
As I spoke recently, MilanIN-TV is already online. For a while it's only about FREE Broadcast Channels but it's already something to start with! Today we've made MilanIN-TV "MilanIN-T(i)V(u)- Try it also You!" (or "MilanIN-T(i)V(u)- Prova anche Tu!" for the Italian version). What does it mean? Hm... it's a good question ;) Here is what I am talking about (picture). You'll find it in the left corner behind the Main Menu below "Our Group on LinkedIN" and "Donate to MilanIN" boxes.

Will Social Networking come soon also to Russia? (ask me for socialnetworking.ru then)
Will Social Networking come soon also to Russia? (ask me for socialnetworking.ru then) - Having registered recently the domain name socialnetworking.it for the future projects of MilanIN, I thought that one day mature Social Networking will knock also at the doors of Russian Internet.
- So I've taken the socialnetworking.ru domain as well ;)
-
- My opinion is that today for Russia the most important Social Networking activity is around livejournal.com :), + the famous people for sure write their Blogs. But I believe the things will change soon.
- When it happens, the decision maker should come to me and ask about the socialnetworking.ru domain. I do not really need it for myself ;), I just can't allow that someone sleeky and not interested at all in Social Networking, will take it just to resell or to cause some damage to the Russian on-line community development.
- Today I am convinced that I'll pass the domain name to a person I will respect and trust. It's not such a big price for a good domain name, right? ;)

One more Social Networking Platform (Club?): socialbc.com
I still did not understand if it's just "another attempt" to repeat the success of the most successful ;), or this could become soon an important project- SocialBC. Taking into account there are Germans behind its organization... Their picture and slogan is nice, with no doubts, just have a look:
P.S. As soon as I understand what's there, I'll report it to "Not-only-MilanIN" register, but I am still not sure this community worth attention.I hope I am wrong, good luck to everybody, not only to MilanIN :) And one more nice picture from there (I really liked it):

Is it a MUST to be registered on LinkedIN for one who's already in Social Networking?
- Preface: I do not speak about those poor people that are outside of Social Networking. From my point of view those are outside of the modern life and I am not interested to discuss their problems at all ;)
- Instead, those already experienced with Social Networking "have surprised" me a bit yesterday.
-
- Some my strong believes:
- - Linkedin is not exactly about Social Networking but it's a very popular Knowledge Management tool and it has a great value for the modern society!
- I hate the latest "new cool features" of LinkedIN such as discussions, they look stupid there and they're unneeded for that Platform from my point of view. At the same time I understand that LinkedIN owners have to earn money ;), but it's another story.
- God Bless LinkedIN!
- - Ecademy/ Soflow/ OpenBC/ etc,- it's all about Social Networking on-line, those tools are very useful but it's not the same as LinkedIN, they're too different, they're exactly for Social Networking on-line.
-
- I was always sure that the people that know what Social Networking means are all registered on LinkedIN for sure plus in one of on-line Social Networks by choice.
- BUT it's not true!
-
- Even if I can not understand why it happen, but there are lots of people that are actively (!) using, let's say, Ecademy, they advertise their businesses there, they find business partners and so on, but they're NOT registered on LinkedIN! ;)
- This is the situation I could not imagine until I met the facts... yesterday, when I was checking just for fun some of my OpenBC's(now Xing) connection, if they're all presented on LinkedIN, and if their profiles there are the same well-rounded as OpenBC profile...
- So the revelation was that there are lots of people that are (still?) NOT registered on LinkedIN ;)
-
- I could not believe it's possible, I thought it's just "a mistaken choice" of person, but then I checked randomly my connections on Soflow, Ecademy, etc etc,- and you know what?! yes, you know what!
- The question is how could those people live in Social Networking-oriented society but be not registered on LinkedIN? It's OK for those poor people that still use their paper notebooks for calling their "trusted connections", but if one is selling some services through Ecademy... how can this one do not use LinkedIN, at least to be registered there?!
- I think it's a big mistake for those people.
-
- OpenBC, Ecademy, Soflow and similar are very good for on-line Social Networking. The real-life Clubs like MilanIN (are there many others) are very effective for real-life connections to generate the real business, but (!) LinkedIN is the greatest ever Network of Profiles!
-
- Well, who I am talking with? Is there anybody out there? ;)
- myself only? :=)
P.S. And one should understand I am talking here ONLY about Social BUSINESS Networking, not the funny platforms like MySpace, YouTube and similar which are also great but have no relations with Business Connections so it's not needed to relate them with LinkedIN in any sense...

MilanIN Web Site: all our Sponsors/Partners have been placed to the Home Page
- It's a very important Event for us! It's true that till recently we did not have a Sponsors/Partners section in the Main Menu on the Home Page of MilanIN to navigate site users to the content (pages) dedicated to MilanIN Sponsors/ Partners. Previously there were only few banners, of our permanent partners- Hosting Solutions, MIP and Pacino Cafe`.
-
- Now, with the recent important change in MilanIN's life (our new headquarters is in the Business Center of Halldis), we decided to put it all in order now. And it's also because our agreement with Halldis includes some (very beautiful!) pages to be placed to our server and stored locally.
-
- In respect of the work done for Halldis, I wish to thank Paola Luce, resp. Marketing/ Sales of Halldis. It was easy for me working with Paola and I hope everyone will like the pages we've made together:
And also (as usual), it's a big thanks to Michael, now for the iframe feature he has developed for MilanIN's Content Management System. Without this feature we'd not be able to make the pages of Halldis so beautiful. - Well, of course it's all not only about Halldis!
- We've designed and placed on-line the page for Hosting Solutions (our important sponsor for web host!), Pacino Cafe (our Networking Place in Milan) and MIP (our general Partner thanks to proff. Andrea Sianesi).

WEB2.0toGO: ah, here is what the SocialBC Club about! ;)
As I told you recently, I discovered a new SocialBC Club, and it looked a bit strange to me, especially their hard pressing about "we've decided to switch to the probably first completely free Online Business Club. This is done now!" There had to be something hidden behind the "Free Online Club"? And I think I found it: they SELL their Platform as a shielf-product! From my point of view- why not? It's just another good Business Model for Social Networking On-Line! Could it work also for us? Looks quite similar to what we were discussing once about 2 years ago with Michael (MilanIN CTO), when in the beginning we had to make a decision about the platform for MilanIN. We decided to take a working piece to start with from Open Source community, and then to share the results of our efforts with the whole world! Well, it's all good, but you'll ask me where is the Business Model here? :=) First of all, MilanIN is not "another On-Line Community". We're "Real People- True Business!". Aboout the rest- you'll see it later!

"4 chiachiere" with a MilanIN member from Rome
Italy is a “long” country :) so Rome is far enough from Milan. But it's very nice that the ideas of MilanIN put us together even if one lives in Rome and we're in Milan! The Yesterday's host of MilanIN was a recent Member living and working in Rome, and the person very interested to accelerate the launch of Rome's node of Social Business Networking "al-MilanIN". We're very glad that time to time the people push us with the territorial expansion, and we (the Org-Committee) are now extremely concentrated on this. It's a very good sign for all our MilanIN-ers from Roma: please contact us for further information

MilanIN on-line partnerships Home Page new area
- Few days ago, as a consequence of the discussion about SocialBC (see the article here) and the following correspondence with Alexander Dort- Founder and COO of SocialBC, the idea to introduce "MilanIN Online Partners" section of our web site was born.
-
- Generally, here at we MilanIN do not like so much the idea of "banner exchange" :): we're not a e-commerce web site or an on-line business company, so our core business is not our web site. Thus making money on the banners blinking on our beautiful Home Page :) does not seem interesting for us (at least today).. But the On-Line Partnership with another Social Networking Clubs is just another thing!
-
- After a small discussion it was decided to create a dedicated area on our web site, to be available via the mail menu on our Home Page, where we will place the logos of another "partner/friends" Social Networking Clubs that in their turn put our logo to their web site pages.
- The first “on-line partner” of MilanIN is SocialBC, thanks to the Blog that allow us meeting Alexander Dort.
-
- Note to everybody: if you know the other Social Networking Clubs that could be interested to participate in our On-line Partnerships program- please let as know (via e-mail, to manager.it AT milanin.com)

The Leonadro Bellini's promo Event (update about his book)
- Yesterday night in Milan I participated in a promo-event organized by Leonardo Bellini,- an update for the people interested in the fate of his recent book- Fare Business con il Web.
-
-
- How do I know Leonardo? Well, he is of course a MilanIN Member and also our recent speaker at a self-presentation Event of MilanIN. Few days ago Leonardo sent an invitation to all Club Members, inviting usto the Event organized by him and supporters, and in fact MilanIN Members took around 25% of all visitors :)
-
- Thank you Leonardo, it was a great Event!
- For those who missed it, I confirm it was not only about the book, but much more about the modern techniques to promote a Web Project. Among the other interesting things, Leonardo was speaking about "Network Reputation" for a brand or product or just your personal Name, and I remembered my own sad story about "another (bad) Andrey Golub" which one may be interested to know :)
-
- What do I think about Leonadro's book? - I am still reading it :), but I can certainly recommend it to everybody new in the world of Internet business, one who is looking for an easy and complete guideline for how to setup, implement, promote and maintain an e-commerce or just a hobby project on the Web!
- And I must admit that even I am not so novice on this field, it's also a pleasure for me to discover the practical advices of Leonardo which I think will work also for MilanIN!
- I believe that Leonardo's knowledge about Web Promotion is uniquely strong and wide, and I wish him the best luck with his book (thanks for having signed one for me, Leo!), and a great career as Consultant on the field!

MilanIN's joined Bloggers feed was registered with Technorati
- For those who care about their MilanIN Blogs to get visibility: technorati.com is a tool to watch/ publish your own Blogs and search through the Blogs of another people. This is a powerful tool and it may give to your Blog a much higher level of visibility in the Web.
-
- As you know, MilanIN is constantly working to make it much attractive for Club Members to use our Web Platform, and at this moment we are working on the Profile/ Home Page/ personal Blog advanced support for MilanIN Members.
- You will write your personal Blog, advertising your company's services, communicating your ideas to the world, just writing funny things about your life, and we (IT Team of MilanIN) will help your Blog to become visible on the Web!
- I believe it's the classical implementations of one of MilanIN's motto- “Achieve the Club's success through success of its Members!”
-
- Of course somebody may want to keep an article for the Club Members-access only, and this is easily organized by specified "for logged users only" access rule for the Article. But for the articles marked as "readable by everybody", we assume you want to make them visible by the whole World... And we'll help you assuming this visibility!
- Of course it's not just about Technorati service. It's the lots of activity that makes part of MilanIN's Web Promotion Strategy.
- We're constantly working on the visibility of MilanIN's Web site in the Web, thus promoting also our Members' profiles, Home Pages and of course Blogs, for those who decide to store the Home Page/Blog on our Platform instead of using another dedicated mass-bloggers platforms.
- We know the are lots of other great platforms available, but none of them makes part of YOUR Business Club, right?
-
- P.S. summarizing the Blog- related resources of MilanIN:
- Each MilanIN Member may have a Blog available on the Web with URL like: http://www.milanin.com/members/NAME.SURNAME/weblog/
- In order to update the Blog (write a new article), Member should go to his/her MilanIN Profile ("My Profile" menu section from Main Menu on the left, inside eGroupWare- Members' Area) and play with "Update my Blog" feature
- The common Blog containing ALL MilanIN Bloggers' articles had a permanent URL: http://www.milanin.com/members/_weblog/everyone.php and its RSS feed
- The same common Blog is visible on MilanIN Home Page when accessed through the Main Menu on the left, MilanIN Bloggers section. Please check it! it's the latest present to the Club of Michael to MilanIN Content Management System. We're sorry this feature is still in beta-testing so may have some problems :(

Workshop su innovazione e design - 13 febbraio 2007, invito per i soci MilanIn
Grazie a Maurizio Quarta, socio MilanIN.
The first global micro-job market place (Pajamanation)
- Pajamanation: www.pajamanation.com
- a Belgian start-up launching the first global micro-job market place.
-
- ...that seems to be very interesting news, and the idea will be probably very useful for lots of people! I do not think there is really something new on the level of idea... but anyways it's an important news for everybody!
-
- Pajamanation is the first global, auction-based electronic market place of microjobs (small jobs outsourced to homeworkers) for homeworkers.
Pajamanation functions as a network for both workers and companies. Users can work from home, in their pajamas if they want, with projects from all over the world. Business managers see Pajamanation as a micro-procurement solution to solve bottlenecks in their companies, such as the realization of jobs or projects that are too small to hire someone or not being done because they fall between two job descriptions. It will enhance the efficiency and the competitiveness of those companies.
Examples of the kind of jobs we are already attracting include:
- translation - website development - copy-writing - desk research - tele-sales - secretarial and accounts
-
-
- But there are plenty of more exotic requests already too, such as shopping-bag design, bi-lingual interviewers, or mystery shoppers... Just check it!
-
- P.S. Thanks to Cathy Dobson for pushing me to check this out :)
