The future evolution for the Search feature on Spock: URL search?
Have just posted this idea to the Spock Power Users forum: Hi Power Users,
I thought- if Spock knows everything about my Social (and real) friends, and puts to their profiles not only tags and photos but also their Web references- so why Spock could not allow us SEARCHING through our Trust Network (or Global Network) for an URL that could be in some way related to a person on Spock?
an example: my friend Michael has a personal web site gfdsa.org, and let's assume (just for example) that I forgot that gfdsa.org is a Web Site of Michael but I need urgently to disvover it and (for example) I can not find the owner-related info on the Web Site. This happens sometimes with Blogs- there is no reference to who's the Blogger but it could be important to know :)
So, I'd love to go to Spock (today) or to use its API from any 3-rd party application (the future), and since gfdsa.org is registered as Web Reference for Michael's profile on Spock and confirmed by the another Spock Nodes, I'd love to be able asking Spock a question like "Who from [my] Network has a Web Site starting with gfdsa.org in the Web Reference list". This could be a complete URL, or a first level domain data only etc- the details are not important now.
I think with this feature Spock would really become the greatest ever People Search Engine, since if would allow us also to DISCOVER the People owned Web Resources like the Blog, a work site, etc. (if those are claimed by res. owner, or found by Spock Robot and confirmed, or added by some Spock Node for another node)
P.S. I understand that with such kind of URL Search feature, if one asks for "linkedin.com" or "facebook.com" he would get the whole Spock or half of it- it's OK for me, anyway Spock would just list the people's profiles and the number of it.

E` FANTASTICO, e` pazzo, e` 2.0! ;)

What to expect from computer technology this year? Some predictions, The Washington Times
What to expect from computer technology this year? The words of Heraclitus of Ephesus come to mind: "Nothing endures but change." In other words, things will be different this year, but how much so?
From the most important points of prediction there are: - Apple's IPhone will inspire other makers to revise and update their products.
- Another emphasis is likely to be in the area of personal computer security
- More growth and less rockiness for social networking services such as Facebook
- other sites worth investigating, such as www.spock.com, which takes social connections in a different direction
- The major operating systems in use by the majority of computer users won't change all that much. At the same time, there could be a big "change," in that more and more people will end up using both Vista and Leopard on a daily basis this year.
- The major applications will remain stable this year, with the exception of Microsoft's Office for Mac, which will appear in a new version two weeks from today
- "Software-as-a-Service," or "SaaS" category that puts applications on the Web and on mobile devices
- 2008 will be the year of the Tablet PC

Plaxo may be sold for $200 million, or an Address-Book 2.0- that had its own Social Life and now costs mega bucks
I have known today from TechCrunch that Plaxo is gonna be sold for some mega-money, 100M to 200M bucks! I am in shock, if Plaxo costs these money I can imagine what will happen in the 2008, when the new energy start-ups like Spock are gonna become much mature and attract everyone's attention. of course I was commenting there about why I do not believe Plaxo costs these money (although if I am sincerely happy for those guys- get the money and go in Caribs!). It was also funny 'coz maybe somebody knows, the President and CEO's of Plaxo surname is like of me- he is Mr. Ben Golub! + another thing has attracted my attention- the author said that Plaxo is a competitor European Xing :) Why? read the original material and, maybe also my comments, here- http://www.techcrunch.com/2008/01/02/plaxos-for-sale/

Spock Tags: VIP 2.0- who could have it better? ;)
I think one of the most 2.0, most cool and the most funny at the same time tags on Spock is VIP 2.0. here is the search result for this key on Spock (today 3 people matched, only one 100% match). And I know only one person who I could assign such tag (and I've assigned it to there ) - is Fabrizio Candoni.
Don't you believe that Fabrizio is the real VIP 2.0? Check his professional profile on LinkedIn, then his business profile on Milan-IN, and you'll find there the two characteristics that put together the most from VIP and the most from 2.0: - International Lobbyist, 12 years around the world for 500 Fortune Companies
- Industry, sector: international relations, international public affairs
- CEO of 2 companies
and then - Manilla is a Digital Lobbying Firm. Our tools are: LinkedIn, Blog, Skype, Entourage. We are a 24*7 Always ON company. We believe in the power of Conversations.
Isn't him the real VIP 2.0? If not yet sure- check the rest of Fabrizio's references on Spock.

The MGMT Board page of Milan-IN web site updated, now reflects also the history
The Milan-IN Board page of our web site has been updated to present now the new elected Management Board for the 2008- 2010 years, and also to reflect who was behind the Club in the recent years. Here is it- P.S. Board is not the same as Milan-IN Founders and not the same as Milan-IN Org-Team. The Board is elected on the base of Milan-IN Statute, when the Org-Team is made from the most active volunteer supporters of Milan-IN's ideas, and the Founders is constant- it's who was in the place X of the day Y to sign Milan-IN Business Club creation document.

Welcome to Millionaires Club, or my first million 2.0 :)
Well, there is nothing to add here, just look at the picture and read the article behind it-
but after that I think I can still add some 5 cents: I am not going to stop on the achieved- my first Million 2.0 was just the first one earned, not the last one I am sure! :) I still have about 1.6M+ in the money 2.0 to earn- in according to Xing and their "Estimate my Network value test". So here is my plan on the picture below :)! I thought earlier they speak about the real money that could be earned with help of my strong Network... but now I see- since the Web is 2.0 now, the Friends are most Social/2.0 friends, so... also the money earned from that Life 2.0 gonna be only money 2.0? It's a pity... but it's funny at least! ;)

DataPortability- the next big thing for Social Web, after OpenSocial?
Something else VERY important is gonna happen now in the world of Social Networking! via mashable.com
After months of competing platforms, privacy showdowns, arguments over who owns your social networking data, and something called “Scoblegate,” a huge announcement from the DataPortability Workgroup today: Google, Facebook, and Plaxo are in. What does this mean? From the announcement: “… Users will be able to access their friends and media across all the applications, social networking sites and widgets that implement the design into their systems …”

Single- Login- Logic, the OpenID, becomes widely accepted- finally a standard for Open Social Web?

I love so much the idea of OpenID, and I was advising few times already to the Spock guys to be supporting OpenID as (alternative in the beginning) a method to login to Spock. OpenID is considered today by several Social Web evangelists/ strategists as a Single- Login- Logic for the coming Open Social Web (2008 is expected to be the year of it!). With this news of today I think OpenID now has all the chances to become the real standard for the Web of tomorrow! So I believe Spock, as a Single Point of Contact by Keyword, could not ignore the need for an urgent integration with OpenID :) We'll see it soon I hope! from Techcrunch UK

Forrester Research says IT departments should refuse to support Apple iPhones
I love and respect so much what Forrester Research usually says, and I am not (at all) the fan of Apple/ Mac/ all i-Blah things. So, this news finds me very well-
Forrester Research says IT departments should refuse to support Apple iPhones, even if CEOs are the ones asking to use the devices for access to corporate networks and systems.
December 13, 2007 — CIO — The Apple iPhone took the consumer mobile space by storm when it was released last June and quickly became one of the most popular smartphones available. Since then, business users who've purchased the device for their personal use have been requesting that their corporate IT departments support it. ... in short the reasons are: - The iPhone Doesn't Allow Data on the Device to be Encrypted
- The iPhone Does Not Natively Support "Push" Corporate E-mail or Wireless Calendar Syncing
- The iPhone Does Not Run Third-Party Applications Without Voiding Its Warranty
- The iPhone Cannot be Locked or Wiped Remotely
- The iPhone Lacks a Physical Keyboard
- The iPhone Has Limited Carrier Support Outside the United States, It's Locked Into Carriers
- The iPhone is (Very) Expensive
- The iPhone Is a First-Generation Device
- Apple Doesn't Offer Replacement Batteries for the iPhone
- There's No Proof That iPhones Are Suitable Business Devices
Additional information on Forrester's The iPhone is Not Meant for Enterprises report is available on the company's website. WoW!The FULL ARTICLE HERE

I crashed Spock, once again :)
I wonder if my profile has become too heavy for Spock because of my Million+ $ 2.0 :), or they were just doing the next planned update of the software?
I think it could be a good idea to notify at least the Spock followers/ supporters about the expected service problems caused by the new version deployment or DB- level works? At least ON TWITTER

Please update your contact information on CardScan@Your Service. Yet another Plaxo?
On these days I receive lots of invitations from my business contacts and social friends, to "update" my information somewhere on CardScan At Your Service: Dear Andrey Golub, I use CardScan At Your Service to keep my address book up-to-date. Would you kindly take a moment to update me with your latest information?
Thank you, <CONTACT NAME/ CONTACT INFO>
At the end of the message there is also my "business card" added, and the two buttons-links "update or change"/"everything is correct". Hmm, yet another Plaxo? The style (format, but even the text!) looks like 100% copied from there :) Do we need another Plaxo guys? but who knows, in according to the recent talks, Plaxo could be sold to somewhere else and probably it won't serve us anymore as a good old Address-Book 2.0? We'll see. in the meanwhile I'll not accept these invitations, I use Plaxo for 3+ years and really love it as an Address-Book 2.0 (but I couldn't accept its becoming another Social Network, as I wrote here in the comments).

The Spock Millionaires Club to grow up- welcome Idan Gafni :)
This night (for Italy) it took place the next Spock Power update. I think it happens once a week, it's a kind of global recalculation of all contribution Spock users have been doing to Spock during the week. And this time it was critical for Mr. Idan Gafni, one of the most strongest Spock Evangelists, promoters and Power Leaders. His score yesterday night was a bit lower 1 Million so... This morning it turned to 1,519,365! Congratulations to Idan and welcome to the Spock Millionaires Club ;)

My ex-boss is now my hero
My ex-boss is now my hero, or Paolo Traverso and his article in the COMPUTER magazine Paolo Traverso was the person who has "opened" for me the door to Europe. It's almost 6 years ago as I had a phone interview with Mr. Traverso for the Sr. Systems Analyst position at IRST/ITC, the Italian Articifial Intelligence main Research Lab located in Trento/ Italy. I remember quite well that interview- I was just after my PhD and with already few years of experience in IT/Software Development, so I was quite confident about my chances to pass it, but... the information I could have found on the Web about my interviewer was too impressive to take it easy :) Plus it was expected to be my first experience in the role of Researcher on IA projects, so I did not know what kind of skills/ attitude should have been demonstrated from my side... well, I've passed it and came to Italy :), met at IRST Paolo and was assigned on the two projects- TROPOS and EDAMOK. The first one was about Requirements driven (Process) Modelling and UML library extensions for Agents systems plus in general about Service Oriented Architectures (the very first ideas), and the second was about Distributed Knowledge Management and all that stuff (contenx, ontology, viepoints,- knowledge representation and sharing). OK, so what's the story of today about? The story is about the recent issue of the COMPUTER magazine (of November 2007), that I could read only during this week-end since the month of December was a bit messi... This whole number is dedicated to "Service Orientation", "new" web and software architectures, distributed systems and distributed logic etc. And one of the most interesting articles was- Service-Oriented Computing: State of the Art and Research Challenges - Service-oriented computing promotes the idea of assembling application components into a network of services that can be loosely coupled to create business processes and agile applications that span organizations and computing platforms.
Among the authors there is my ex-boss and now my biggest hero of research- Paolo Traverso! You may want to consult the abstract of that article, and then if you like it, to pay-per-read it if you are not IEEE Member.

What is CRM 2.0? a COMMUNITY RELATIONSHIP MANAGEMENT (system).
preface: CRM 0.0 (in this context) stands for Customer relationship management (organizational process, PC/Network software system, or a person resp. for this area- so CRM Admin/Manager). The CRM 1.5 tag could be assigned to a Web based CRM system, like SugarCRM for example, which is an Open-Source btw. It's not a CRM 1.0 anymore 'coz it's already dynamic Web and a very progressive development. NOW: Do you think that CRM 2.0 should be a CRM 1.5 with some added 2.0 features/access to some 3-rd party 2.0 services? hm.... I think this is still just the old good CRM 1.5 just with the UI 2.0! :) Instead... I think the real CRM 2.0 (as a term) should be used as (Customer)COMMUNITY RELATIONSHIP MANAGEMENT. This could be applied as CRM 2.0 System to a tool for Customer Community Management, and also to the person who will be resp. for the area of Community Management in a company, CR Manager 2.0, more technically (in respect of the software system it operates over)- a CRM 2.0 Admin.
Of course that means also providing all the modern 2.0 tools for customer community life and its (self-?)development- Blogs, wikis, social tagging, content sharing and tagging etc, but also the classifal for Web group collaboration automation. We know that just "Customer" does not exist anymore, customers make part of your Brand, your Company, your Product- they have become YOUR CUSTOMER COMMUNITY. And so this COMMUNITY will require: - to be understood, stimulated so "managed" on the level of human relations. From here comes the new organizational role, area manager- Community Relationship Manager (person), probably CR Manager 2.0 or who can invite a better acronym.
- a tool for their Customer Community Life. The most tools that exist today are or
- made from scratch by every company for itselt, or
- those are Facebook communities, I call them Fan Club 2.0 (I love soo much this term!), but those are not the real communities that "belong" to your brand, or
- hose use NING or similar platforms, not so highly configurable to be "re-branded" and so on lots of lacks for a small/medium size companies.
- An expert user of the tool from (2), which is an official responsible for CRM 2.0 System for a certain community- the CRM 2.0 Admin (not usually the same as CR Manager 2.0 which is more an Area Manager).
Finally, about the job title CR Manager 2.0: I think it's more straight than the one of Community Manager (are we sure that the free-spirit community WANTS to be managed?), or the Community Evangelist (I believe Evangelist stands more for Marketing 2.0/ PR 2.0 Manager that follows a brand/ start-up/ Product, not an Operative Responsible for Community Life). Well, it's enough to begin thinking about the subj. I think I'll come back soon to this idea/ problem.
Keywords: COMMUNITY RELATIONSHIP MANAGEMENT, CRM 0.0, CRM 1.0, CRM 1.5, CRM 2.0, CRM 2.0 Admin, CRM 2.0 Manager, CRM 2.0 Manager, Fan Club 2.0, Web 2.0, CRM

Basta fermarsi in tempo.

to be continued qua FANTASTICO!
quindi, secondo me,

Osservatorio Enterprise 2.0: Global Mobility Workshop. Milano, 30 gennaio 2008
Programma | | |
