NEW LINKEDIN EUROPE MANAGEMENT contacted!!

I'm very pleased to announce that we've contacted Mr. Kevin Eyres, Managing Director and Cristina Hoole, Marketing and PR Director of LinkedIN Europe.

We had a pleasant meeting were we explained MilanIN characters and how LinkedIN & MilanIN will have a great future in italian social network market.

Kevin & Cristina was very interested in what is happening in Italy, what MilanIN build and statistics about our appointments like Present YourSelf meeting.

We talked about sponsorship, LinkedIN Europe is ready to help MilanIN development through privileged visibility and more information delivered.

Witch kind of information?

Well, one recurring questions from MilanIN members is to have indications on how to use or improve the use of LinkedIN platform.

So good news guys, Cristina will send advanced guides and specific material to MilanIN about the use & new applications and features, information not available to yet general public.

This action will require an NDA of course, and we are ready to sign in!

So we will assist our members and evangelize on LinkedIN platform!

This is the relevant topic of the meeting that Kevin & Cristina gets very well: we are based in Italy and have a good experience in social networking market with a lot of contacts, so we can evangelize to LinkedIN usage in a professional way.

Our partnership will be to evangelize and spread the LinkedIN word in Milan , receiving support, visibility and information from LinkedIN.

WAYN: great features or professional spammers??

Some while ago I susbcribe to WAYN (Were Are You Now) social network, to test how it works. It's related to travel and leisure, free time. I have been there for a while, but recently I did not connect anymore due to business constrains.

Now I get that WAYN implemented a routine that take my contacts (from outlook or wherever else), and sent them an invitation to connect to my profile. Obviously the invitation is sent with my name in the header. This process happens with no action from my side, and without my awareness nor my explicit permission.

I discovered this behavior because one of such invitation has been sent to my secondary email address, here below the message (in italian, I usually use english for my contacts :-)

Te sender of the message is Mr. invitation@whereareyounow.net that was tagged as Massimo Brembilla --> outlook reports only the tag and not the "real" sender code, so the joke does works!! Every people that receive such message will say that it is a Massimo's message!

But, again, I never sent it.

I wrote to WAYN explain the throuble, and they confirmed the action performed. But hey was afraid I did not enjoy of such great feature! Without my intervention the tool is sending invitation messages expanding my network! They says it was made clear to me when I register and upload my contacts.

Well, i'm a bit confused: great feature or SPAM made with my name???

I think my conatcts are important for me and I don't want spam them.

Having someone that send mails in an uncontrolled way, it is not a good approach in my opinion. I shall those messages.

è una data da ricordare

Ho appena finito di controllare e ricontrollare i numeri della serata: 165 partecipanti effettivi!!

una altro dato importante è che le conferme erano 163, poi qualcuno non ha potuto venire e qualche altro è arrivato senza preavviso, altri hanno portato graditi ospiti, il totale ha superato le prenotazioni. E' record nel record!!!

Durante la serata ho ricevuto molto feedback, tutti positivi, sul locale e sull'organizzazione.

Ho parlto molto di federazione nazionale, ho colto molto interesse da parte dei soci venuti da diverse città, con Monica Mameli ad esempio venuta apposta per l'evento da Cagliari!!

Serata ECCEZIONALE!!!!

Carissimi,
la scorsa settimana ero a Londra per un convegno, sono rimasto quindi un po' fuori dai "battibecchi" elettorali e la cosa un po' mi è piaciuta.
piaciuta perchè sono rimasto in un clima sereno privo di scontri, solo "un po'" perchè ho abbandonato i miei colleghi di quadra ed i miei elettori.
Convegno organizzato dall'IET (Institute of Engineering & Technology, http://www.theiet.org/), il topic è molto "topic": "Sincronizzazione nelle reti TLC".

Sono rimasto favorevolmente impressionato dalla organizzazione curata nei minimi dettagli, dalle opportunità di networking offerte, dalla cordialità delle persone incontrate (anche se di aziende concorrenti e con evidente contrapposizione di business sulla ideazione delle "nuove reti sincrone"),
Correttezza e massimo rispetto durante le più accese discussioni. Non facile.
Il corredo alla parte tecnica sono stati pranzi comuni a buffet, aperitivi, giro in battello sul Tamigi sempre con cena a buffet, visita serale privata all'osservatorio & museo di Greenwich (aperto e riservato solo a noi dell' IET.... il potere delle relazioni!),
e cena "sociale" con richiami alle varie personalità presenti, in modo ufficiale ma anche un po' ironico.
Ovviamnete ho finito i biglietti da visita...

Ottima esperienza, tra ingegneri, con un buon connotato di networking.
Qui il paragone con MilanIN è d'obbligo: ci troviamo per fare networking, e buona parte dei soci ha un passato da ingegnere.......

Le modalità sono simili: incontri per cene o aperitivi tipicamente a buffet, richiami a personalità di spicco. Qui siamo più bravi noi con i presenta te stesso dedicati :-), però ci mancano gli eventi culturali "privati". Può essere una idea per il futuro?

Oltre a questa idea vorrei portare un po' "fair play" inglese nel nostro club, e lo metto come punto 6 del mio personale programma elettorale - see http://www.milanin.com/egroupware/fudforum/3814588639/index.php?t=msg&th=648&start=0& per gli altri 5 punti.

Ne abbiamo bisogno.

controllate il vostro profilo su linkedin: una sorpresa vi aspetta: per tutti i soci dell'area di milano vi è l'invito da parte di linkedin di incontrarsi a milanin, la comunità italiana di utenti di linkedin!!!!

E' una delle sorprese che ho discusso con Liz prima dell'estate. Avevamo fissato la scadenza al 15 settembre, ma linkedin muove sempre in anticipo ......
